All I want for Christmas

Yes you all know the song all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, well I all I want is Wil's two front teeth back!! So here is where I left off on the last blog. It was christmas night and we were at Ryan's parents house. I look over at Wil who is playing with the baby gate that goes downstairs. Then I look at Ryan and say "Is that baby gate safe?" when instead I should have used my Mommy in-stink better and gone over and picked him up. Instead I look back over and see him trying to climb over it and knocking it over. Causing him to ride it down the stairs and hit the bottom hardwood floors. I ran so fast that I saw it all happen in a blink of an eye. There was blood EVERYWHERE!! When I picked him up all I could do was scream, and then I saw that his two front teeth where hanging by gums only. This was the scariest thing that has ever happened in my life and to this day I still want to cry thinking about it.
Since it was christmas there was no dentist on call or returning my calls. So that night I had to put two pairs of socks on each of his hands so he would stop trying to suck his thumb and then hold him all night just so we could get a few hours of sleep. By morning I finally got a hold of a dentist that ended up pulling both of the teeth while I got to hold him down and watch. I was hoping that Ryan would be there to do this but he had a patient call him and needed to be treated so he was working.
Once we got home I tore down the christmas tree and decided that we were done with christmas and that it was the worst christmas ever and that I hated christmas. Next year we will be looking back at this event and be thankful that the only thing he broke was his teeth (which will not come back until he is about 6!!!). So the picture of him with the bow on his head is one of my favorites because it was right before it happened and his little teeth are so cute!!! I took the other picture about 4 days after it happened. I didn't want to remember what he looked like right after it happened. As you can see his lip is still bruised and a little fat. He was amazing how fast he healed. He looks a 100 times better in this picture then he did the day before.
So now we have our little boy who as gotten the nickname Bruiser at our house. He always seems to have a bruise somewhere on his face. I thought this might slow him down but it has only made him stronger. We are so thankful that he is okay now and adjusting well to life with no front teeth!
(i forgot to add that I did call the ER and was told there was not a lot they could do for him and that he needed to see a dentist. Then one of the nurses said one of them could pull the teeth but I thought it best to have a dentist do that. Plus I was kind of praying that they could be saved but that was a no go!)
