Yes at the age of two Owen still had a pacifier for night time. I had thought of taking it away before but always found a reason not to; we were moving, I was pregnant, we just had a baby, life as a two year old is hard!! Lots of reason but I finally decided that it was time. We had been telling him that the Binkie fairy was going to come and take away all of his pacifiers. He was not to happy about that but he told him that he would get a present, that he liked. He decided that a Thomas that train would be fun. This was a lot harder to find then I thought it would be!! I ended up finding a flashlight that lights up and makes train noises. On Friday before he took a nap I told him we had to throw all his pacifiers away and that the fairy would come and get them. He put them in a little cup and I made him throw them away in the trash. He cried until I told him there was a present on his bed. He did pretty good at nap time probably because Thomas was so new. Then came night time!! For five nights we had to fight with him. He kept asking for a pacifier and trying to go to the trash to get them out. Finally last night he went to bed without crying. I am hoping tonight is good too. So I guess I am not going to have to kill the Binkie Fairy like I had planned!
Add to My Profile | More Videos Wil loves to say Mama now. Mostly when he is getting mad :) He is so cute. Next word I think will be Dada since I heard him almost say it the other night!! video may or may not work. I don't know whats wrong with it??
The other day Ryan was holding Wil and was eating a cookie. Wil wanted it soo bad. So we let him put it in his mouth. He thought it was the best thing ever!! Lately he has really been wanting real food, but the poor guy still doesn't have any teeth. I think one is on it way though! If you are wondering why Wil's cheek is all red it is because he rubbed it on the carpet?? I think he was getting tired and so he rubbed his face on the floor and got rug burn :(
I decided to try and take some pictures of Wil today for his six months pictures. He was pretty happy in the first two pictures I took and then he started getting sleepy so I couldn't get him to smile. It would have been a perfect picture if I would have had my flash set up right. I was trying to get it right by taking a picture but it was too bright, that is why the picture is in b&w the only way I could save it. I guess I will have to try another day! He still is pretty cute in these!
Our friends the Johnstons came to visit us on Wednesday. The boys had so much fun playing together. I think Owen remembered them. They all ran around the house chasing eachother. We took them to the park to run off a little steam before bed. When we got home we thought it would be a good idea to give them all a bath together. But they did not like that at all. Xander was the first on to start crying, which then made Owen, who then made Aidan. Fun time in the bath! It was so nice to see them again and get to talk. We have missed hanging out with them. We are hoping they will decide to move here! They are on their way to Canada right now but will be back here on July 7th when they head back to Portland.
I was busy cleaning today and Owen took it upon himself to mop the floors. The kids loves to clean. He must have got that from his Dad because if you know me I hate to clean!! All you have to do to get him to clean up is to sing a little song. "Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere. Clean up, clean up, everybody do your share" He will start sining along and start cleaning. It works great to get him to clean up his toys, he thinks its fun!! He also loves to get a dish towel and clean off the tables and his toys. I'm really not sure where he gets that from. His Dad is not that clean :)Owen is so funny sometimes but thats why we love him!
I decided to document making cinnamon rolls today. I thought someone might want to try them too. The main reason I made them today is because of my friend Stephanie. She posted a picture of a cinnamon roll on your blog last week and ever since then I have wanted one. I am a little picky with what kind I like. I sometimes like the ones in the mall but they usually have to much cinnamon and filling in them. By the time I am half way done I feel sick. I love the ones my mom has always made us growing up so I usually stick with them. It is an all day process of making dough, letting rise, cutting the dough, letting it rise again, and then cooking it. The end makes it well worth it!! So we are having Chili with rolls tonight for dinner. Now you may be thinking why chili?? Most people do unless you grew up in Northern Idaho, maybe just Sandpoint. When I was in school and along with my Dad the school always served Cinnamon Rolls with chili as lunch. This is the only way my Dad likes Chili so my Mom too would make it this way. I have to say I don't really like chili that much but I do if I have a roll with it! Ryan thinks that it is so strange and a waste to do this but here is how I like to eat chili. I take the cinnamon roll and put it in the bowl and then dump chili on top of it. The spices with the sweetness is really good. Don't get me wrong I like to eat cinnamon rolls just by themselves too! So if you ever come over and I make this meal for you don't think that I am totally weird, give it a try you just might like it. If there is anyone else out there that like to eat chili with cinnamon rolls leave a comment so everyone else knows you are weird too :)
